Change in Legal (ChiL)

On Wednesday 27th November change leaders from prominent Bristol law firms gathered to share common challenges, quick wins and practical tips to make change stick.

Over 80% of organisational success is now attributed to the effective implementation of business strategy (Accelerating Performance, Colin Price). Many firms will have a similar strategy with common themes such as profitable growth, efficiencies, client journey/deepening and strengthening client relationships, innovation, compliance – what sets them apart is not the ‘what’ – it’s the ‘how’ – and ‘how-to’ at pace.

Over bacon rolls and coffee, individuals discussed their firms top projects and the blockers to getting them over the line. Challenges included getting the business case right and signed off faster, managing expectations, increasing adoption, being client-facing (not internal business facing) and much more.

Created and developed from years of change experience, firms were able to use the Nine Feet Tall change methodology to brainstorm and discuss what has gone well and what could have gone better relating to each pillar.

Anna Taylor, Innovation and Change Manager said, “The CHiL event was really enjoyable and useful. We had some interesting discussions with our peers from other firms about the challenges we all face when delivering change and came away with some practical ideas and tips – looking forward to the next event!”

Many thanks to DAC Beachcroft for hosting our CHiL session.
