Project Context

9FT were engaged by Spectris to conduct a comprehensive review of a complex and costly system implementation programme. The project had encountered significant challenges, with both internal staff and third-party vendors expressing frustration over the difficulties inherent in managing such a large-scale transformation. Spectris sought an objective assessment to understand the root causes of these issues and to identify opportunities for improvement.

Project Delivery

9FT approached the review by conducting in-depth interviews with key staff members and third-party partners involved in the delivery of the programme. This allowed the team to gain a holistic understanding of the challenges faced across all levels of the project. Drawing on these insights, 9FT developed a series of impactful recommendations aimed at addressing the issues identified.

Recognising the sensitivity of the findings, 9FT presented their recommendations directly to the Spectris executive team. The delivery of these messages required careful handling, as the recommendations called for significant change and strong leadership to implement.

Following the review and presentation, the executive team invited 9FT to continue supporting the programme. This involved working closely with the delivery team to implement the recommendations and conducting deeper, targeted reviews of each area within the programme. 9FT’s ongoing involvement was focused on supporting the teams to improve quality and drive sustainable change.
