Avison Young (AY) is a global commercial real estate services firm with more than 100 offices in 15 countries. AY offers commercial real estate services for occupiers and investors, including transaction, management, financial and advisory services.
Staying up to date with digital progression (more info on digital transformation here) is integral to any large industry leading company, and this is no different for Avison Young. Recognising a need to update their central financial application, which is fundamental to client work, to create a more modern and interactive platform, Avison Young recruited the help of Nine Feet Tall. Drawing on their expertise Nine Feet Tall set out to support the design and delivery of a new, bespoke built system.
The initial phase of the project involved an in-depth business analysis process through discovery workshops, process mapping and detailed requirements gathering in order to inform the solution design of the new system.
Nine Feet Tall then worked alongside AY and the chosen vendor to project manage the build and implementation of the new application. Nine Feet Tall were responsible for the successful launch of the new system including change management, data migration, and go live initiation. Key responsibilities included day to day management of the AY project team, vendor management, testing including test strategy, training including training approach and roll out, as well as key project management materials such as risk management, planning and budgeting.
A key feature of the success of this project was the focus on change management, particularly as the new application was launched as a ‘big bang’ whereby the new system replaced the old simultaneously. From building a project brand, to a suitable training roll out, regular communications and utilising a ‘super user’ network, users felt supported, informed and engaged throughout. This user network within the AY team acted as a source of help and support for various users spread across teams within the AY structure. As such, capability was built, giving AY the confidence to hit the ground running following successful launch of the new system.
Nine Feet Tall collaborated with AY to deliver and launch this industry leading bespoke system, modernising their platform and delivering on client and business needs for future development. This digitisation process has resulted in improved efficiency of AY client operations by streamlining processes and creating a system which meets their current and future needs. Major improvements include cloud-based operating, increased accessibility of the system, and system speed, alongside the introduction of new functionality such as interactive dashboards for team collaboration, improved deadline alerts and compliance monitoring.
The system has been built according to the needs of AY and their clients and is completely bespoke, an approach that we at Nine Feet Tall pride ourselves on when delivering client work.
