John Lewis employs more than 90,000 Partners who in turn, own 43 John Lewis shops, over 300 Waitrose supermarkets and a thriving online and catalogue business. The company has pioneered its ambitious vision of co-ownership and shown how a business can profit by putting the happiness and well-being of its employees at the heart of everything it does.
Project methodology & process design
John Lewis embarked on a mission to streamline workflows and embed consistent processes within its online department, which was responsible for maintaining and improving the retailer’s website. We were brought in to understand current ways of working and, within the frameworks of the wider business, build a new, standardised project methodology for the department to use. Our business analysts created as-is and to-be process maps to define new ways of working and developed a portfolio of tools and templates to support the introduction of the new project methodology.
Established methodology to enable consistency across all projects
In a team that was stretched with both BAU activities and fast paced projects, we adopted an agile and flexible approach to developing a simple project methodology, in order to provide transparency, control and optimise resource utilisation.Rob CockburnProgramme Manager, John Lewis
