Context

Nine Feet Tall was engaged by Viridor, a long-standing client, leveraging a well-established relationship and a history of successfully delivering complex technology projects and programmes. Viridor was facing a significant regulatory-driven change that required a complete overhaul of their legal entity structure. This transformation was particularly challenging due to the high level of risk involved: changes to the legal entity were deeply embedded across critical business systems and processes, with the potential to disrupt orders, stock management, invoicing, and reporting. The impact was not restricted to a single department but spanned multiple central teams, users across multiple sites, and a wide network of suppliers, making coordination and communication critical.

Delivery

Nine Feet Tall’s primary objective was to establish a compliant and efficient legal entity structure providing clear, timely and automated reporting to enable informed decision making.
To achieve this, 9FT coordinated the implementation of a Microsoft D365 system roadmap, ensuring solution design, development, and testing were tightly managed. A clear supplier communication plan was put in place, and comprehensive training materials were developed for internal teams. To enable this change to embed successfully an internal change team was established to support testing, upgrades, and knowledge sharing.

9FT worked with Viridor to document new business processes and deliver regular performance reporting. It was important that supplier data was cleansed and updated, and ongoing processes were introduced to maintain data quality. Throughout the project, 9FT focused on minimising disruption to operations, ensuring smooth rollout of new processes, and defining clear KPIs and ownership to drive accountability.

Outcome

The project was delivered within a tight schedule, achieving all key milestones and objectives. The new legal entity structure provided Viridor with a compliant and efficient solution, enabling the business to meet regulatory requirements without sacrificing operational effectiveness. Ms D365 was successfully deployed and adopted.
Importantly, disruption to business-as-usual activities was kept to a minimum, with no major business interruption at go live. The success of the project was recognised at the highest level, with the team being awarded “Team of the Year” at Viridor’s annual awards, a testament to the quality of the partnership and the positive impact on the organisation.
